Bollard style grips applicable for tensile / elongation resistance tests coupled in a universal testing machine for tapes, ropes, threads, etc.
The bollards type grips are suitable for tests of tensile strength of a wide range of samples, such as fine wires and the best option is to use jaws coated with synthetic diamond. The grips are designed so that the sample can be wound around the bollard and held at one end by means of a manual jaw with faceted or smooth diamond-coated faces, this helps to reduce the sample breakages that occur in the own jaw in another type of grips and in addition the load is distributed during the test around the bollard by introducing friction to the sample. Depending on the coefficient of friction, the samples to be tested should be given one or several turns around the guide roller.
