Standard Practice for Filled-Hole Tension and Compression Testing of Polymer Matrix Composite Laminates.
It is the standard test method for tensile and compression testing of composite polymer matrix roll laminates. A narrow tolerance pin or pin is inserted into the hole of the composite test specimen and the sample is loaded in uniaxial tension or compression until failure. Unlike a support response test, the pin or fixer is not loaded or used as a load transfer mechanism between test samples and test devices. The pin or fixer simply fills the hole in the composite laminate.
