Standard Test Method for Thick-Adherend Metal Lap-Shear Joints for Determination of the Stress-Strain Behavior of Adhesives in Shear by Tension Loading
This standard has a test specification that determines the stress-strain behavior of adhesives in shear. A tensile load is applied to the cross-cut samples of coarse adhesion and the adhesive is placed in shear. The shear strain properties of the adhesive are obtained. This test method aims to characterize the adhesive properties and is useful for the design and analysis of adhesively bonded joints.
